Apparently ram makers are complaining cause the RP is so low.
Now would be a good time to snap up lots cause prices are due to go back up.

Date: May 25, 2008, 8:36 p.m.If I get some cash, I am looking at getting a 2GB dual channel set of DDR2 800. I already have a 1GB dual channel set but it's low latency Corsair stuff, so I would prefer to get the same stuff again, and up it to 3GB total.
The reason for getting exactly 3 gigs is that 32 bit Windows XP, Vista, or any other OS'es out there can address no more than 3GB anyway - this is a hardware design limitation of 32 bit, even if you have 4GB in your machine you won't be able to access the last gig unless you run 64 bit Windows.
I run 64 bit Ubuntu for day to day stuff and that can address beyond 3 gigs, being a 64 bit operating system, but my Windows XP which is for gaming, is only 32 bit.
Also, to be honest I don't think I would use the last gig anyway. In general when I am working in Ubuntu I use about 300-400MB of RAM, upto 700MB when I got lots open. The main reason for upgrading is games in Windows, but Ubuntu will definitely make use of the extra ram too, for caching purposes.
