Came across a few 3D images a couple of months ago and just remember about them after checking out Wikipedia.
For those interested checkout Wainuiomata 3D Images (unfortunately the author has closed this album).
Remember when we would only imagine what it would be like to look down on home and to think with online tools like Google Earth and zoomin.co.nz shows how far we have come.
While your at it has anyone checked out Google Moon? if you zoom in too much be prepared to "smile".

It's been long overdue, but as they say all good things take time! Ynui Technology would like to announce that Wainuiomartians now have a place on the net to share our thoughts and ideas, and help to promote Wainuiomata. If you would like to take advantage of the Forums and Chat Room, users will need to register for a free account.
Once you have created an account, members can update their profile information and share a little bit about themselves. If you know a little about BBCode, you can make your messages that little more interesting.
If you want to add your own user icon (avatar), the Ynui forum makes use of Gravatars (Globally Recognised Avatars). All you need to do is sign up for a free account on Gravatar.com, using the same email address as you used in the forum.

Last year I posted an article on the site about Google Earth. For those of you that may not be aware, Google Earth is an application enabling users who have the right hardware, to navigate around a 3D generated "earth" on their desktop.
Google Earth combines satellite imagery to allow exciting views of the world from a click of your mouse. Recently Google Earth has updated its databases with higher resolution satellite imagery of New Zealand, so now you can see a birds eye view of your house! How about that?

The title says it all! If you have wanted some ideas about what to get up to around Wellington, this is well worth a look. For events, courses and activities from arts & entertainment to recreation and also for the kids.
The website is a vision of Recreation Wellington, a business unit of Wellington City Council, who encourage Wellingtonians to 'feel great' by enhancing well being and healthy lifestyles through the provision of quality, accessible and affordable recreation opportunities.
Check out the website Feeling Great (website no longer exists).

Are you up for a spontaneous chat with someone? Check out this concept! Pretty simple idea really. iMeep is a new service which randomly pairs you with another individual from around the world, to instantly have a one-on-one conversation. You are asked to 'SHARE' your chat for others to view and add to their favourites.

While going through my daily routine, reading through some of my emailing lists, I found this cool new online street map service for New Zealand, called Zoomin Maps. It's based around the same technology found in google maps, offering features such as:
- Find as you type for street name, your search is narrowed down as you type
- You can pan the map and zoom in, directly in your web browser
- You can switch between street map and aerial modes (With high resolution satellite imagery)
Click the logo below to visit the site.
